Q1. What makes your music sound unique compared to other local artists?

A1. I'd like to think it's because I'm a unique person, and my music pretty much is a reflection of me. I'm not one too rap about shit to be cool or make friends, I make music about What I see, feel, and or what I think is cool to me. Feel me?

Q2. What inspires you to be the local hip-hop artist you are?

A2. You know If you had asked me this when I started I would have told you "I'm tryna change the way people think or how they look at life and get they shit together" but now... Honestly I just like good music and I dislike a lot of music and shit that's "cool" these days so I just make what I want to listen too, and I mean it's fun.

Q3. What is it like when your in the studio, do you have a special ritual of how you create music?

A3. Really there's no ritual I would just prefer that there is Hennessy there and someone to be honest about the takes and just throw some ideas out because I want it to be right.

Q4. Was the Bourne Madd Tour your first official tour, what was the experience like?

A4. Naw, not my first but it was fun. Got to roll with some artist I've known and worked with for a while now, and I got to meet some new artist that I can build with in the future. Plus Dezz is great he took care of everyone and is hella fun, so I mean it was trill.

Q5. How did you get your emcee name - Champlu?

A5. Gah damn! That's pretty much a whole other interview right there haha. But basically for those who don't know I been making beats since I was 12 years old, and I'm a huge anime nerd. So by the time I got like really good or serious with the whole production thing. The show "samurai champloo" came out and I kind of always wanted to make music for anime and video games and that show was everything I loved. Samurais and hip hop, and good hip hop at that, and it just inspired and gave me a direction with what I was producing at the time. So when it came time to come up with a name, my dad (DJ L.O.C) was making fun of me saying my name should be "Champloo" and I was against it because I thought it was weird or lame to be named after a anime until I found out what it meant. And it means mixture of styles and that's exactly what I am so I went with it, plus it's different and sparks curiosity because it's so weird.

Q6. I ask every local artists I interview, but if I were to look through your iphone or computer files- What kind of genres or songs would I find?

A6. Hip hop, rap, reggae, R&B, funk, Soul, and a ton of neo-soul cause that's my shit oh and some random abstract shit.

Q7. I have been following you on Instagram ,but for those who haven't what are they missing?

A7. My ugly ass shot on nice ass cameras and edited by dope ass people, flyers, and shit lol I'm not the meme guy. But if you follow me on Twitter I'm constantly reposting some funny shit.

Q8. Any upcoming shows for you?

A8. Yeah I'll be performing at J. Lately's show coming up in Oakland. If ya'll want info you just gonna have to follow me and J. Lately haha I be having a show or 2 like once a week tho to be honest so follow me foreal you'll see.

Q9. Where can people who don't already know you find your music or follow you?

A9. Shiiiiiit you can search "Milo Champlu" on soundcloud. Or just google me I show up. But to keep it all the way trill my website "itschamplu.com" got what you looking for!
