Questions:
1. What made you want to be a local artist - Anyone inspire you to pursue this dream?
A: I would say my dad has inspired me the most,ive been around music all my life because of him, i played drums in a band with my 3 siblings from 4th grade until my senior year of highschool, ive always knew music was what im meant to do.
2. How did you come across the stage name "Ya5hi3"?
A: Lol I just always thought it was kinda corny to give yourself a nickname so I just flipped one I already had.
3. What do you expect your audience or current fans to get from listening to your music?
A: I dunno I just think it has a vibe, it feels good to listen to, I think its good music to lose yourself and just forget about everything.
4. Where do you see yourself in five years from now, still performing?
A: I'm not sure, I see myself behind the scenes a lot working with other artists, but I like being an artist too. I get to make things people would normally say "no" to and say "yessss" lol, but as far as me as a artist who knows what the future holds for me. I also I havent started playing shows yet, I'm getting there .
5. Do you have any upcoming shows coming up?
A: Haha my friend actually asked me to play at a party this summer, but I wouldnt really call that a show.
6. Do you have any big projects or videos coming out this year, that you can't wait to share with the world?
A: Yes, I'm releasing my debut EP, its called NYsea, its about 8 songs for now, I'm definitely working on some visuals for it. I really think this project is important to youth in New York, a lot of us are under heavy pressure to fail or succeed,chase after a dollar. Even though we live in one of the greatest cities in the world, a lot of us want to escape it for a bit, just cant seem to do it.
7. I just recently began promoting you and following you, but for those not following what are they missing out on?
A: Good music,lol who wants to miss out on that?
8. I ask all of the local artists I interview, but if I were to look at your iPhone's music playlist or computer's library - What kind of genres or songs would I find?
A: Anything really rock,house,hip-hop,jazz, and disco.
